Children come to school to learn.  Sometimes this is clean inside but sometimes it means going outside to learn which can be messy.  Whatever your child wears for school please bear this in mind!

Our school colour is red.  We sell red school sweatshirts and cardigans with the school logo from the school office.  However red cardigans and sweatshirts are also available in most supermarkets and other stores.  Most children wear grey or black trousers, and girls often wear either skirts or dresses.  However your child needs to be comfortable for school and must be able to dress and undress themselves independently for and after PE sessions.  Some children choose to wear jogging bottoms when they first start school as these are easier.  Tights are best avoided on PE days unless your child can easily manage them.  Jeans restrict movement and are not suitable for school.

Children need a PE kit in school throughout the year.  They need a pair of shorts and a short sleeved (not sleeveless) t-shirt and a pair of plimsolls.  We try to do PE outside as much as possible as long as it is dry and not too windy, this sometimes means being outside in November or February if it is sunny.  Children are welcome to wear a tracksuit outside.

We try to play on the field throughout the year.  If your child wishes to play on the field from October to April they will need a pair of wellie boots which can stay at school.  Children play on the field in shoes in summer and in September.

Finally, your child will need a coat to stay warm.  Please check your child can fasten and unfasten their own coat when choosing one.  Fur lined zips are very tricky for little hands to manage.

We try very hard to make sure children do not lose their clothing, but things do occasionally go missing.  We always return clothes with names in.  Please name all of your child’s clothing (sewn in labels last longest) as this will help us return any mislaid clothes.
