Reading at Home
Reading at home is the most important way parents and carers can help to support their child’s progress. There is not enough time at school for children to read enough to get the practise they need so daily reading at home is essential.
Here is the information from the reading meeting s held at school:
| Reception Reading Meeting | Y1 and Y2 Reading Meeting |
We teach children to read mainly through sounding out words (using phonics skills). Here is an overview of the sounds taught and the actions which children learn in reception:

Remember the school library is open every Wednesday after school for children to come and change their library book again. We also have a parent book swap scheme for parents to use. Any younger siblings who come to this session are also welcome to borrow books. The after school library session is the only time children are allowed to borrow our DVD and CD books!
